"St." Pete's Convenient Forgetfulness

Rove was asked to fire U.S. attorney

By Margaret Talev and Marisa Taylor
McClatchy Newspapers

WASHINGTON - Presidential advisor Karl Rove and at least one other member of the White House political team were urged by the New Mexico Republican party chairman to fire the state's U.S. attorney because of dissatisfaction in part with his failure to indict Democrats in a voter fraud investigation in the battleground election state.

...

Justice Department officials have revealed that Domenici repeatedly contacted officials within the department requesting Iglesias' removal. But when asked Friday whether he contacted Rove about the issue, Domenici said he could not remember.

Comments:
Now I can't remember why I ever voted for Domenici.

Must be a virus going around....

Now where did I put my keys?....

After hearing him speak at LANL the past few years, it's plausible. Regardless of the outcome of this fiasco, I predict easy re-election if he runs again.

Pete is getting on in years, and some of his decisions as of late are questionable, his health is going as his facuilities, hope he gets out before he's kicked out...He was good for New Mexico , it's time for a new set of thinking.

Good ol' 'Pajama Pete'.

Isn't he adorable in his dotage?

Get ready Sen. Domenici, the Democracts have hooked them a big fish, and their not about to let go....

Hillary Clinton can't remember stuff either, nor can Sandy Burglar, um, I mean Berger, nor...

Shall I go on?

Just stop it with the hating crap...it's getting old.

It's ok to hate corruption.

About the "hate" thing. This blog and its predecessor are full of it. That's what everyone expects and it doesn't disappoint. Sometimes it is entertaining, and occasionally even informative. But, in general it is still hateful, and therefore mostly ignored in rational debate that occurs elsewhere. A forum to vent anonymously probably helps those who would otherwise go postal (and their potential victims), but no one should deceive themselves that this forum helps anything. In my opinion, the only method to convince the "powers that be" that their course is disasterous is to let the disaster happen. Even though they still won't believe it was their fault, they will still go down with the ship (and with the innocent sailors), except of course those with the "golden life rafts." Our illustrious elected representatives mandated this course, but will never suffer the consequences, unless of course their own personal security is affected by their decisions about "national security." Imagine that. 9/11 II at their doorstep, in their neighborhood. Yeehah.

Never before has "YEEHAH!" been a foreign policy.

You know you read this blog to find out when the other shoe will drop. You just "hate" to admit it.

Perhaps management will be done choking on said shoe soon and spit it out.

You've obviously forgotten Teddy Roosevelt.
